So, I'm not much for being girly or writing about guys or mushy things, but I feel compelled to write this time because someone very special has come back into my life. It started as a simple email and inexplicable things have been taking place ever since.
Jeremy and I first met back at my beloved old house on Eagle Creek about 9 years ago. My best friend, April introduced us and we instantly hit it off. At that time, I was a senior in high school at I was taking Automotive Tech at Eastside, and so was he.

| My best friend April and I |
Shortly after my graduation, I moved in with April and Jessica, and embarked on my life as a legit “adult”. Considering Jeremy was her cousin, he was over pretty often. And I loved it when he was around. I’ve never met anyone more fun or more attractive.
I think at that point, I was dating my first boyfriend (ugh), and to my recollection he might have been dating someone as well. So nothing ever happened between us, but there was a transparent attraction between the two of us that everyone saw right through. At one point, April said that we’d have the most beautiful babies. Jeremy is very charming and handsome, and although he knows it, he is the most down to earth guy and such a blast to be around.
When he first sent me the email, I was shocked! I haven’t seen him or even heard from him ever since our “Nicholasville Days”.
We chatted online for a few days, and slowly things began to change.
His rocky marriage was at its closing stages due to an unfaithful wife. He has a family all of his own now, including two children and one on the way. He is 25 but has grown up in several areas as far as being a husband and father is concerned.
We hung out a few times at April’s and had a blast! In the past few weeks, we’ve covered a lot of ground catching up and reliving our olden days when we were carefree and teenagers. Oh how things have changed.
Our initial conversations lead to controversy with his former wife, her mom, and Jeremy’s mom, and I discovered I was in an awkward position.
To this day, things are uneasy and our relationship is being misconstrued with other people’s wrong accusations. It’s frustrating because we both have a clear picture of what’s going on. This is making me feel like I have to prove my motives and yet; everyone seems to have it in their preordained notions, that I am a home wrecker.
Yes, we like each other. Yes, there is a mutual attraction between the two of us. Are we going to act on these evident partialities? No. We both know that it is not in our best interest. We are keeping this fun, honest, and principled.
He is in the groundwork phase of a divorce. He has two adorable babies. He is tentatively a married man. I am not going to be an instrument of a ricocheted marriage, any time soon.
My first and only priority is to do right in God’s Eyes. While Jeremy is an amazing guy, he is not my #1. I want to keep reaching and striving with one goal in mind, to fall in love with Jesus. Although different things have a tendency to congest my vision, I must remain steadfast in my walk with God.
